About
Kids Summer Art Camp offers a 5 day summer art camp where students hand-build ceramics, work with ceramics, and create acrylic and watercolor paintings. Campers also spend time drawing, using acrylic on canvas, doing landscape painting on location, working with watercolor and pastel, and making crafts. All materials are provided, and all classes are in-person.
• Ages: 7–12 years old
• Schedule: 5 day (9:00am - 3:30pm) summer art camp
• Price: Full Day Summer Camp $650.00
The camp is led by Founder and Art Instructor Inna Polnar and Instructor Alexandra Munoz. Inna Polnar graduated with a BFA from the Moscow Art University in Moscow, Russia, and studied under American colorist Ovanes Berbarian in the United States. Alexandra Munoz recently earned her Master’s degree from UCLA. Kids Summer Art Camp is part of Art Academia, a European-style art school that focuses on observation, interpretation, and application. Since 2003, the stated goal has been to help students appreciate beauty and create art from the world that surrounds them. Art Academia students regularly win gold, silver, and bronze awards at Bay Area art competitions, and several alumni have built portfolios that earned them admission to top art programs throughout the country. Art Academia has won the Best Art School in San Mateo Award three consecutive years.
The camp runs in a small group format with no more than 9 students per session and 2 instructors. It takes place outdoors with tents set up to provide shade and uses an indoor art studio if the weather is not comfortable. One day during the camp, students go to a nearby lagoon, sit under the shade of a willow tree, and have lunch on the grass while drawing and painting. Students are asked to bring their own lunch, water, and snacks, and a refrigerator and microwave are available.
