About the provider
Lisa Performing Arts was established in 2003 by Lisa Dong. The about page says it has grown in size and depth during the last 20+ years, and that in early 2007 the academy renovated a large facility into three studios to accommodate a student body of over 300. It states a mission to promote the artistic expression of dance through education and cultural exchanges with other artistic groups around the world, and to promote Chinese culture and art through education and cultural exchanges with other artistic groups in the Bay Area. The program says it has won numerous awards at international dance competitions, including National Championship Awards, Top Division Awards, Choreography of the Year, Best Entertainment, Best Costume, Special Judges Awards, a Grand Championship award, multiple high awards, runner-up placements, and other competition wins. It also says every year it selects an elite group of dancers for a leadership board and mentions cultural exchange highlights and performances at community and public events.
