American Swim Academy has been teaching the Bay Area to swim since 1973 and was founded over 50 years ago. American Swim Academy is still owned and operated by the Alberti family. Classes are taught by certified instructors. The mission of the American Swim Academy is to provide an exceptional program designed to teach students to swim through the highest quality instruction that instills a life-long love of the water.
The program uses indoor pools heated to a comfortable 92°, with facilities explicitly designed for swim instruction. It offers smaller class sizes and a nurturing and supportive environment. The program provides personalized classes on a consistent schedule year-round, seven days a week, and offers a free trial swim class for new and first-time swimmers based on availability, which is not combinable with other offers. There is also a member referral program that offers a free class every time a friend joins, with no limits.
In April, American Swim Academy supports Autism Acceptance Month and welcomes children of all abilities, including those with Autism, offering specialized swim lessons in a calm, patient environment. Testimonials from parents describe instructors and staff by name, including Mr. Jonathan, Chelsea, Elias, Tay, Maria, Chantel, Lee, Cheyenne, Scott, Drew, Ms. Nikki, and Benny, and mention staff who are described as knowledgeable, patient, attentive, organized, and approachable, with facilities that are described as clean, well-maintained, and superb, and with instructor-to-student ratios that are described as wonderful. Parents report that their children enjoyed summer swim sessions, discovered a love for swimming, progressed through levels, and that staff addressed concerns and communicated through phone, email, in person, and an online portal with many available times and days for lessons.
