Little Mud Puddles Learning Center

Little Mud Puddles Learning Center includes activities such as art projects, storytelling, music time, songs, group play, hands-on exploration, interactive lessons, guided discovery, creative art, music, movement, science activities, outdoor play, puzzles, and hands-on problem-solving activities. The program also uses Hooked on Phonics and Handwriting Without Tears as part of its early learning approach.

Little Mud Puddles Learning Center offers an early learning program, a toddler transition program, a pre-kindergarten readiness program, and a kindergarten readiness program. The program follows a creative curriculum with a focus on play-based learning and integrates academics with arts, music, and science. Outdoor play is described as an essential part of the program, and the classrooms emphasize small class sizes, individualized attention, and an inclusive classroom culture. The center provides vegetarian meals, and parents have webcam access through a secure online monitoring service to view their child in the classroom, including a virtual tour video. The Little Mud Puddles Learning Center has a diversified staff trained in Early Childhood Development through education and experience, and the Director is Darlene Johnston. The mission statement explains that the program provides a safe, clean, loving, supportive environment that promotes education, diversity, and learning through play, and that it creates a setting where children ages 2–5 years old discover their own individualism to set a successful foundation for the next stage in their lives. The mission also states that the program values family culture, uses English as the primary language while supporting the home language in various ways, promotes keeping the home language strong, and believes the process of doing an activity is a key component for children to learn. The mission further states that the program respects children for their unique, individual qualities while establishing and maintaining a love for learning.

Little Mud Puddles Learning Center states it has been “Igniting the Love of Learning for 40 Years.” The program has received a Best 2025 Award for Best Daycare and was honored in Best Preschool, and it received a Best 2023 Award: Best of Fremont Child Care Services, a Business Hall of Fame recognition for the 15th consecutive year.
