SSB Basketball Academy offers basketball classes, basketball lessons, and basketball training, along with special events such as a youth basketball league, SSB Spring League, SSB Summer Camp, a Halloween costume ball game competition, a BBQ basketball marathon, and boba basketball. The SSB Summer Camp includes Session 1 from July 13–17 and Session 2 from July 20–24, with each session running from 9:00AM to 12:00PM. Coach Mike has played basketball for over 30 years, has coached youth for over 15 years, played high school basketball at JFK and American High School in Fremont, and has instructed for basketball academies in the United States and for Yao Ming’s basketball academy in Shanghai, China. Coach Jason has played basketball for over 20 years, has coached youth for over 5 years, was a member of the Junior Men’s National Basketball Team for China from 2005–2007, played for the Ohlone College men’s basketball team from 2010–2013, and was a head instructor at the 25th Anniversary Michael Jordan Flight School Basketball Camp in 2017. Coach Ring played domestic and international basketball for 19 years, has coached kids for 11 years, and played competitively nationwide at Our Savior New American in New York from 2005–2008, at Ohlone College in Fremont from 2010–2013, and internationally in Nairobi. Coach Seenu graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in international business, coached the Men’s Club Basketball Team at Cal Poly Pomona in Fall 2024 and Spring 2025, and has been coaching at SSB since 2020. Coach Evan is a former starting forward for multiple CYO and AAU teams, mainly for the “b3 Ballin’ Ambassadors,” graduated from Newark Memorial High School in 2019, is working toward a theology degree through online classes, has been a Senior Head Coach for SSB for several years, and is part of the SSB Administration Team. Coach Udun began his basketball career at Roosevelt High School, continued at San Francisco State University, and played professional basketball overseas for five years in Europe and Asia, including in Spain, Germany, and Vietnam. Coach Di’Jhae played for Forest Park Elementary and multiple AAU organizations, attended American High School from 2015–2019 where he played one year on JV and three years on Varsity, started his college basketball journey at Chabot College, and has been a Co-head Coach for SSB since early 2023. Coach Vivin has been playing basketball since age 5, played AAU for the Mambas and Bosses, played for American High School where he served as captain of the Freshman, JV, and Varsity teams, has been coaching at SSB since 2020, and graduated from Chapman University with a B.S. in Applied Human Physiology. Coach Ron has been volunteer coaching boys and girls basketball since 2004, including 15 years at Ardenwood Elementary, Holy Spirit CYO Basketball and Track & Field, the City of Fremont Youth Recreation League, two local AAU girls teams, and founding Dragons Basketball in 2019, and he is currently serving as Varsity Boys Assistant Coach at American High School.
The program states that it prides itself on each child’s growth and experience and promises that this will be the funnest, most productive basketball training a child will receive. It offers basketball classes in Fremont for children ages 5 and up, divides its SSB Summer Camp into three age groups for focused, age-appropriate training, and offers a free trial class.
