Since 1971, the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation has focused on delivering fire prevention education and services to burn survivors and their families in California, with over 50 years of prevention and survivor services across the state. Its mission is to significantly reduce the number of burn injuries through prevention education and to enhance the quality of life of those affected by burn injuries in California. Survivor services include the Safe and Warm program, which provides a compact package for burn patients from the unhoused community that teaches strategies for keeping warm and preventing burns, and Champ Camp for youth burn survivors, which is supported by the Champy-On fundraiser. Leadership for the organization includes Katrina Arthur, who serves as Associate Director, and Alison Clark, who serves as a Board Member. The foundation works with multiple medical centers, fire agencies, and community partners across California, including hospitals such as Shriners Hospital for Children and UC Davis Health, fire agencies such as CAL FIRE and various local fire departments, and community partners such as Angel Flight West, Monterey Bay Aquarium, PG&E, and the Kiwanis Club of Clovis. A testimonial from Board Member Alison Clark notes that many people believe in the mission of the foundation and support its services for kids, survivors, and one another.
