Copper River Country Club Junior Tennis Program includes tennis through clinics, private instruction, and private lessons. The program also connects junior players with UTR junior tournaments. Families at the club also have access to golf, fitness, and swimming lessons as part of the broader offerings at Copper River Country Club.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Tennis hours are Monday–Thursday 8:00am–10:00pm and Friday–Sunday 8:00am–8:00pm
The program is part of a larger tennis operation that includes 15 LED lighted courts, with 13 hard courts and two clay courts, and a member lounge. The center court is used often for NorCal USTA and NorCal USTA Junior tournaments. Copper River Country Club offers a full schedule of clinics and private instruction for the entire family, with an extensive program of classes for junior tennis players up to age 19 and private lessons available for both adults and junior players. The club also has a state-of-the-art fitness center, a pool pavilion with a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool with lap lanes, a toddler pool, and a spa.
The junior tennis program is led by Director of Tennis Nolan Kelly and Head Teaching Professional and Copper River Country Club Head Pro Sadhaf Pucher. Sadhaf Pucher has over 18 years of experience developing junior, collegiate, and pro tennis players and has coached at The Ohio State University, University of Nebraska, Princeton University, Drake University, and Southern Utah University, guiding programs and individuals to national rankings. Steve Loop, former Fresno State assistant men’s tennis coach and former men’s tennis head coach at Fresno City College, runs the 559 High Performance Tennis program after six seasons on the Fresno State men’s tennis staff. Andy Vang, former Fresno Pacific University women’s tennis coach and former assistant men’s tennis coach at American River College, leads the junior program and hosts UTR junior tournaments around Fresno.
Copper River Country Club is a member of the U.S. Tennis Association. Its tennis facility has received awards, and its owner, Bob Husband, was named one of the “25 Most Powerful People in Golf” by Golf Inc. Magazine in 2003, “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst & Young, and “One of the Most Dynamic Movers and Shakers in the Golf Industry” by Crittenden Golf. Bob and Sue Husband created a foundation that supports charitable organizations including Big Brothers & Sisters, the Ronald McDonald House, and various school programs.
