Lois Ellyn Ballet Studio offers ballet classes, pre-ballet, and adult ballet classes, along with performances and professional performance opportunities. Students take part in education in the arts and cultural education programs, including live staged ballet at the theater and The Nutcracker ballet performance. The studio is the home of Nouveau Chamber Ballet, whose company repertoire includes traditional ballets, contemporary works, and original works, and whose productions feature superior sets, professional costumes, and dancers’ fine technique.

Founded by Lois Ellyn in 1956, the studio is led by Artistic Director Sheree King, with Lois Ellyn as the founder. The staff, led by Artistic Director Sheree King, has years of teaching and performing experience and is committed to providing the highest caliber of dance instruction. Lois Ellyn founded Nouveau Chamber Ballet in 1988, and Nouveau Chamber Ballet has been a non profit organization since February 1988. The adjunct ballet school offers a full range of classes from pre-ballet to professional level for students of all ages.
Nouveau Chamber Ballet participates in cultural education programs throughout the community and regularly performs for school children in the Orange County area. The “Sponsor a School” program enables young children to attend The Nutcracker ballet performance each December. Nouveau Chamber Ballet partners with Orange County schools to bring dance presentations onsite at schools, culminating in a live staged ballet at the theater. Aspiring choreographers, composers, artists, and designers work together to provide cultural enrichment to the community through regular performances and education in the arts, and the company frequently collaborates with other artistic groups, including Southland orchestras, ensembles, and soloists. The studio is the oldest ballet school in Orange County and is a non-profit organization providing pre-professional and professional dancers with performance and educational opportunities.
