The M&m Youth Mentor Program includes fun and educational STEM activities for at-risk children that focus on science, technology, engineering, math, and computer coding. The program also offers tutoring, music, and the arts as part of its regular activities.
The M&m Youth Mentor Program is part of H.O.P.E., which was founded in 1997 by CEO and Founder Gayle Knight. The mission of H.O.P.E. is to provide a myriad of services to abandoned or abused women and children from disadvantaged families. H.O.P.E. works together with over 50 other agencies, including Orange County 211, Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove, Lincoln Educational Center for Teen Moms, the Colony of the Arts, Magnolia Park Focus Partners, many local schools, the City of Garden Grove, and Arbor Educational and Training Centers (CalWORKS). H.O.P.E. is described as a One-Stop Safety Net provider and receives clients and support from these partners for services such as referrals, warehouse space for program supplies, food bank resources and manpower, and administrative support.
