Perfect Score Athletics

Perfect Score Athletics offers gymnastics, tumbling, power tumbling, and cheer. The program provides expert power tumbling and gymnastics instruction in a family-run, community-focused training facility that is described as safe, supportive, fun, and “no-drama.” The coaching philosophy is described as character first and skills second, and the gym is positioned as an alternative to high-pressure, expensive elite gyms.

Perfect Score Athletics is described as a community-focused training facility dedicated to building confidence, strength, and character in every child through the joy of movement. The gym’s mission states that it creates a positive and inclusive space where every child, regardless of skill level, feels safe to try, fail, and succeed, and that it is dedicated to nurturing children's emotional and physical health while raising their self-esteem while working hard to train athletes so they can accomplish their goals. The owner, Phylicia, was a competitive heptathlete and cheerleader at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). She has spent over 20 years volunteering with youth cheer in the community, and the gym emphasizes affordable programs.
