Almaden Soccer / Almaden FC is a soccer program where players take part in soccer activities. The program includes both a long-standing recreational soccer program and a competitive program called Almaden FC.
Almaden Soccer was founded as a non-profit organization in 1967. In 2007 the club added Almaden FC as a competitive program for players who wanted a higher level of play than the recreational program. Almaden Soccer offers multiple types of soccer programs, including recreational, juniors, competitive, and elite player programs. The club’s mission is to grow and develop leaders through the game of soccer on and off the field, with a focus on health, holistic development, social interaction, and community through a compelling soccer experience. Its guiding ideas include INSPIRE, which focuses on role modeling and creating a structured learning environment that stimulates and inspires love of the game; DEVELOP, which focuses on a player-centric, holistic development process and continued growth; and COMPETE, which focuses on improving, facing challenges, and leaving it all on the field. The Experience Director is Wendy Feierfeil. The organization has regional, national, and international affiliations, including US Club Soccer, NorCal Premier Soccer League, Girls Academy League, and California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) District II.
