Almaden FC / Almaden Soccer Club offers soccer programs under the long-standing Almaden Soccer organization. The club includes both recreational soccer and the Almaden FC competitive program for players seeking a higher level of play than the recreational program.
Almaden Soccer was founded as a non-profit organization in 1967. In 2007 the club added Almaden FC as a competitive program for Almaden Soccer players who wanted a higher level of playing opportunity than the recreational program. Almaden Soccer offers various programs, including recreational, juniors, competitive, and elite player programs. The club’s mission is to grow and develop leaders through the game of soccer on and off the field, with a focus on health, holistic development, social interaction, and community through a compelling soccer experience. Stated club themes include “ONE CLUB. NO LIMITS.” and “INSPIRE | DEVELOP | COMPETE.” The club defines INSPIRE as role modeling and creating a structured learning environment that stimulates and inspires the love of the game, DEVELOP as a player-centric, holistic development process that focuses on continued growth and a constant strive for excellence, and COMPETE as being driven to improve, boldly facing challenges, and leaving it all on the field. Almaden Soccer’s Experience Director is Wendy Feierfeil. The club has affiliations with US Club Soccer, NorCal Premier Soccer League, Girls Academy League, and California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) District II, and notes that its increasing stature in youth soccer has allowed it to establish and maintain these regional, national, and international affiliations.
