The BJJ Society Kids Jiu Jitsu Program focuses on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Jiu Jitsu for children. Kids in the program practice self-defense skills along with grappling and ground fighting techniques. The program also offers a Family Class where adults and kids train together in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Kids classes are offered Monday through Thursday from 4:45 PM to 6:15 PM, with an additional Family Class for adults and kids on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
The program is part of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Society (BJJ Society), which describes itself as a community dedicated to the practice and promotion of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The leadership team includes Coach Jerry Cazarez, an owner and instructor who has been involved in Jiu Jitsu since 2009, is a black belt, and has previously cultivated an extensive children’s jiu jitsu program. It also includes Coach Val DaRocha, an owner and instructor who is a 3rd degree black belt with a history of competing and medaling at IBJJF PANS and Master Worlds between 2006 and 2018.
The coaching staff is described as a professional team that includes these two expert owners as coaches. The program offers a Kids Membership for children to become Junior Jiu Jitsu experts, meet new friends, and learn moves with experienced coaches, as well as an Adult Membership and a Family Class for adults and kids on Saturdays. Families can access a Free Visitor Trial, and there is a promotion offering three free training sessions. Another promotion states that if families commit to a 3-month membership and purchase a Gi, they receive one month free.
