Camp Bob Waldorf offers summer and weekend camp programs that include activities and experiences grounded in the values of Community, Inclusion, Identity, and Respect. The camp also runs a “Golden Broom Award” at the end of each session for campers who take the best care of their cabin. Camp Bob Waldorf includes a non-sectarian camp for children in underserved communities and a pluralistic Jewish Cultural Session for Jewish children.

Camp Bob Waldorf is a program of Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles, a 100-year-old nonprofit organization. It is owned and operated by Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles, which also runs Youth Mentorship and College Access + Success programs. Camp Bob Waldorf serves more than 1200 youth from the Greater Los Angeles area each year and includes both non-sectarian and pluralistic Jewish camp experiences. The camp is accredited by the American Camping Association, which verifies compliance with over 300 nationally recognized standards for operation.
The mission of Camp Bob Waldorf is to enrich the lives of youth throughout Greater Los Angeles with tools and a support system from elementary school to college and beyond, driven by the values of community, inclusion, identity, and respect. The camp is a nonprofit that provides an environment where children learn to be creative, responsible, and thoughtful individuals. Camp Bob Waldorf states that it is deeply committed to youth safeguarding and to creating a culture of dignity, accountability, and care, supported by ongoing training and best practices that prioritize the safety and well-being of every young person in the community.
The leadership team includes Katie Toole, Vice President of Camp & Retreat Operations; Sofia Varona, Assistant Director; Guadalupe Muñoz Zaragoza, Registration and Outreach Associate; Brian Sapp, Facilities Assistant; Elvis Torres, Facilities Team Member; Lynn Dutson, Facilities Coordinator; Alfred Aguilar, Executive Chef; and Rebecca Staff, Recreation & Retreats Program Coordinator. Assistant Director Sofia Varona received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies at Cal State LA with an emphasis in Directed Elementary Subject Matter. Registration and Outreach Associate Guadalupe Muñoz Zaragoza received her B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Chicano Studies at UCLA. Recreation & Retreats Program Coordinator Rebecca Staff earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from the University of Oklahoma and was a student-athlete for the women’s rowing team.
A former camper and Counselor-in-Training shared, “My mom is proud of me because she's seen me go from a shy kid to a confident young man.”
