Girls’ Empowerment Programs (Camp Rosie & TechGYRLS) include Girls Circle groups, Healthy Relationship education, STEAM learning opportunities, TechGYRLS, and Camp Rosie: Girls on the Rise. Camp Rosie is described as a summer leadership and empowerment program for youth. These programs run together as part of the YWCA Glendale & Pasadena’s Girls’ Empowerment offerings throughout the year.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with sessions held July 13 to July 17 and July 27 to July 31
• Price: Camp Rosie is free for low to moderate income families.
YWCA Glendale & Pasadena was established in 1926. Its mission is to be dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The leadership team includes Debra Suh (CEO), Alejandra Sanchez (Program Director), Jomie Liu (Director of Community Engagement), Erin English (Development & Communications Manager), and Leah Inman (Administrative Manager). YWCA Glendale & Pasadena is a supporter and founder of the annual Glendale Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Gathering as part of the Coalition for an Anti-Racist Glendale. All domestic violence services are provided at no cost and are available in English, Spanish, and Armenian.
