About
Tinker Club offers robotics, coding, 3D design, hands-on science and science experiments, STEM projects, and robotics and engineering activities. The program includes a STEM afterschool program, STEM summer camps, project-based learning, public speaking, and parent and me workshops. It also runs an FLL competition robotics team and provides customized lessons for schools.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
Tinker Club’s mission is to nurture the curiosity of children and empower them with logical thinking and problem-solving, using a methodology that enhances communication skills and team-building techniques. Its project-based curricula follow Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), and courses blend coding, robotics, 3D design, and communication to solve real-world problems. The program uses hands-on learning and engaging science experiments, project-based learning, and public speaking, and it hosts parent and me workshops.
The teaching approach focuses on improving logical and critical thinking, public speaking, and self-esteem, and on preparing the next generation in resilience, analytical skills, and innovation. Tinker Club states that students start with no prior experience in any STEM field and develop a scientific approach to code, create, and complete projects from scratch. It is committed to providing the best learning experience for every student based on their interests and skill level, with attention to individual social-emotional needs and promoting collaboration.
Tinker Club reports that more than 7,000 students have been served by the program and that it was voted as the most engaging program by 92% of teachers and students. The program notes that its hands-on activities and focus on communication skills support English Language Learners in developing English proficiency and oral skills in a short time, and that it focuses on fostering well-rounded learners prepared for future challenges, particularly within non-native and underrepresented communities. It is dedicated to supporting school administrators, teachers, PTAs, and non-profits through school partnerships, partners, and collaborations.
The leadership team includes Founder/Director Melineh Zohrabian, Robotics Coach Jirbert Dilanchian, Manager/Teacher Lineli Hairapetian, and Robotics Coach Meher Khechadouri. Melineh Zohrabian has a master’s degree in education and studied HR management at UCLA. Jirbert Dilanchian has worked as a software engineer at Boeing and Amazon. Lineli Hairapetian received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and has several years of experience as a web-based application developer. Meher Khechadouri earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and is completing a master’s in Information Systems with a focus on Network Security.
A shared testimonial states, “Thank you Tinker Club. we love your program at our summer camp.” from Sound of Children Cultural Center Summer Camp.
