ZA Basketball Academy offers basketball training that focuses on ball handling, shooting, dribbling, passing, and footwork. The program includes personalized training through 1-on-1 sessions, small group training with 4 players per group, weekend clinics, weekend camps, and a 4 Week Training Program. Every player receives direct feedback, custom drills, and targeted improvement strategies, with training that also includes game-speed scenarios and mental toughness.

ZA Basketball Academy is led by Zareh “Coach Z” Avedian, a 3x Hall of Fame Coach with over 25 years of coaching experience, and trainer Zareh Zargaryan, described as an elite trainer. Zareh “Coach Z” Avedian earned All-American and Player of the Year honors in college, played professionally in Europe and the ABA, and led the Armenian Men’s National Basketball Team to gold at the 2016 FIBA Small Countries Championship. His background includes being a four-year varsity starter at Hoover High School with All-Area and 1st Team All-CIF honors, playing at Citrus College, and then earning a full-ride scholarship to Cal State Dominguez Hills, where he helped the team reach a top-4 national ranking in NCAA Division II, win league championships, and earn All-League honors. His credentials and awards include induction into the Ventura County Hall of Fame, Cal Lutheran Athletic Hall of Fame (2014), and Hoover High School Hall of Fame (2019), as well as First Team All-SCIAC Conference and SCIAC Player of the Year.
The mission of ZA Basketball Academy is to empower young athletes through focused basketball training led by 3x Hall of Fame Coach Z, using 1-on-1 sessions, small group training, and weekend camps to work on fundamentals like ball handling, shooting, and footwork, along with discipline, teamwork, and perseverance for long-term athletic and personal development. The academy was founded with roots in Glendale, CA, and is described as bridging international passion with world-class resources. Training takes place on both indoor and outdoor basketball courts.
