Marin Baseball is a baseball program where players take part in organized baseball activities. The program centers on true player development in baseball, including physical growth, mental toughness, sportsmanship, and leadership. It has grown from one team into a club with over 20 teams and more than 400 athletes spanning three counties.
• Ages: 8–14 years old
Marin Baseball was founded in 2017 by a group of parents with a shared vision to create something different for young athletes in the community. The mission of Marin Baseball is to complement the youth Little League baseball experience, prepare players for high school baseball, and lay a solid foundation for future success both on the field and in life. For ages 8–12, the program focuses on enhancing and complementing the Little League experience, teaching fundamental skills, teamwork, and the joy of competition. For ages 13–14, the program focuses on advanced skills, mental toughness, and preparation for high school baseball. The program emphasizes long-term player development, discipline, and work ethic, as well as mental toughness and resilience, including staying focused, overcoming challenges, and staying composed under pressure. It also emphasizes teaching respect and sportsmanship, fostering integrity, humility, and sportsmanship, and has a goal to create an environment where players have fun, grow as athletes, and develop a lifelong love for the game.
The coaching staff includes former collegiate players and individuals with years of coaching experience. The leadership and coaching team includes Founder and 7U and 12U Head Coach Tom Connors; Head of Baseball Operations Mike Firenzi; Operations Manager Steffney Crawford; 9U Head Coaches Billy Jack Ryan and Dre Gleckman; 14U Head Coaches Jim Rey and Patrick Hodges; 10U Head Coach Luke Zlatunich (2); 11U Head Coach Mackie Skall (2); 8U and (2) 12U Head Coach Mike Dibley; 13U Head Coach Rafael Betances; 8U and 9U Head Coach Rich Dibley; 11U Head Coach Sterling Perry; and Marin Baseball Coaches Connor George, Ethan Crawford, Jesse Gassman, Michael Connors, and Spenser Rey. Marin Baseball keeps community at its core by partnering with local Little Leagues, aligning its schedule to complement, rather than compete, with Little League, and staying connected to the families it serves. The program provides financial assistance, equipment, coach training, and field rentals supported by donors to make baseball more accessible.
