Tree Urchins July Summer Camp

Alex’s Playground and Discovery Gardens (Niven Park), 5 Barry Way, Greenbrae, CA 94904

This summer’s offering is designed for families looking to have their child “dip a toe” into the summer camp experience. We will be a small group, and an experienced outdoor leader will be with the children at all times. Think of it as an adventure pod, rather than a traditional summer camp. The program is also convenient for most Marin families: you can drop off near Bon Air, in Greenbrae, or meet us at the trailhead, if that’s easier. We will visit the following parks/open spaces: Blackie's, San Quentin Beach, Corte Madera Creek, Ring Mountain, China Camp, Old Mill Park, Alto Bowl and more! See all the details in specific session descriptions!

Tree Urchins Tree Urchins

The Tree Urchins program gets preschoolers and other young children out into nature, exploring the trails and open spaces of Marin County. By interacting with the dynamic habitats all around us, our excursions promote novel forms of learning. Natural sites become as familiar as classrooms, yet with seasonal ebbs and flows the classroom is always revealing new wonders that spark and engage the natural curiosity of young children.
