• Schedule: Class options are available Monday through Saturday, with morning and afternoon/evening hours on most weekdays and Saturday mornings.
FLEX Performing Arts states that its mission is building strength and confidence through the arts, with aims that include fostering a positive and encouraging environment for performing arts students and their families, encouraging and supporting students, stressing the importance of athleticism in dance through safe and effective conditioning, and educating on proper technique while instilling life skills such as work ethic, teamwork, resilience, and accountability. The mission also includes contributing to the community in a meaningful way, holding staff and students to a higher standard, providing performance and enrichment opportunities, creating an inclusive environment where people from all walks of life are welcome and supported, encouraging body positivity, helping students reach their personal goals, and having fun. The studio offers a free trial, references free dance shoes and Discount Dance, and has an area where family members can watch students dance. An Adult Class Interest Form is available for classes not currently on the schedule, and there is an application opportunity for teaching or administrative staff. Studio C and D are opened by the teacher 5 minutes before class starts, and families needing assistance are directed to the main studio.
In February 2020, Coastal Dance and Music Academy closed, and during the pandemic Brianna was approached by former CDMA students to hold outdoor dance classes, which led to the creation of FLEX Performing Arts over the last few years. FLEX Performing Arts partners with Coastal Performing Arts Foundation to bring performance education and opportunities to the community and seeks support and donations to enrich the performing arts community on the Central Coast. Leadership and contact roles include customer service at [email protected], dance or instructor questions at [email protected], billing or technical support at [email protected], the studio director at [email protected], and the operations manager at [email protected].
Parent and family testimonials describe children and grandchildren enjoying dance classes and performances at FLEX Performing Arts, including mentions of a Christmas show, recitals, and multiple dance classes. Several testimonials specifically mention that the children love dancing at the studio, and one notes that there is an area to watch classes with younger siblings.
