Hanford Learning Center was founded in 2000 and operates as part of non-profit Educare Services, Inc., which allows the majority of Educare families to attend for free. Educare teachers are trained regularly. The program’s mission is to offer a quality state preschool that prepares children for kindergarten in a loving, supportive, and educational environment that is a place to learn, play, and grow. The leadership team includes Maria Lopez as Site Supervisor and Sandra Chaney, Jerri Yandell, and Lou Rena Lee on the Board of Directors. Educare develops partnerships with local schools and communities and offers a Parent Advisory Committee, as well as events such as Annual Parent Orientation, Open Houses, Donuts with Daddies, Muffins with Mommies, Art Night, Farmers Markets, Fall Festivals, and Winter Singing Celebrations. Families experience warm welcomes and open doors at drop off and pick up, along with ongoing communication through daily chats, orientations and events, regular texts, phone calls, emails, and parent-teacher conferences twice a year.
One parent shared that both their son and daughter attended this preschool, that they felt the teachers kept their children safe at all times and taught them what was needed to prepare for kindergarten, and that their daughter loved the preschool and staff so much she was upset she would not be back the next year.
