About
Hanford Learning Center offers kindergarten preparation along with academics, language, motor, and behavioral activities. Children take part in STEM-based lessons, outside play, arts and crafts, story circle, and group story time as part of the program’s core activities. The program includes classrooms that feel like home and activities that help children learn through play.
• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4pm, with half or full-day program options
• Price: Most of our Hanford families qualify for 100% free preschool tuition
Hanford Learning Center accepts children ages 3–5 who are potty-trained, with children required to be 3 years old on or before December 1st. The program is operated by non-profit Educare Services, Inc., and Educare teachers are trained regularly. The mission of the program is to offer a quality state preschool that prepares children for kindergarten in a loving, supportive, and educational environment, and to be a place to learn, play, and grow.
The site supervisor for Hanford Learning Center is Maria Lopez. The program was founded in 2000. Educare develops partnerships with local schools and communities and offers ongoing parent involvement through daily chats, orientations and events, regular texts, phone calls, and emails, as well as parent-teacher conferences twice a year. Families are invited to Annual Parent Orientation, Open Houses, Donuts with Daddies, Muffins with Mommies, Art Night, Farmers Markets, Fall Festivals, Winter Singing Celebrations, and Parent Advisory Committee opportunities.
One parent, Jose R., shared that both his son and daughter attended this preschool, that he felt the teachers kept his children safe at all times and taught them what was needed to prepare them for kindergarten, and that his daughter loved the preschool and staff so much she was upset she would not be back the next year.
