• Ages: 0–4 years old
• Schedule: Nearly three months of themed activities and sessions
Highly qualified and highly trained teachers interact with infants through teacher-guided physical development exercises, support two-year-olds in meeting key milestones, and give preschoolers both freedom and instruction within the classroom activities. The school year curriculum incorporates early childhood education best practices, includes Preschool Math Basics and Language & Literacy with Kindergarten-readiness activities based on early-childhood standards from across the nation, and uses enriched preschool activities in literacy, mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. Babies and toddlers have a daily log of feeding, sleeping, diapering, and learning activities, and families receive regular assessments through written reports, ongoing portfolio collections, quarterly reports, and family/teacher conferences twice a year.
Children create journals and portfolios that use drawing, writing, and arts and crafts as ways to communicate, and the environment includes a range of activities that engage toddlers’ fine and gross motor skills, language development, and understanding of caring relationships. Outdoor play is scheduled at least twice daily for toddlers and preschoolers, and all programs follow state-mandated teacher-to-child ratios. Motivated Minds was started to lay an educational foundation so children are prepared for kindergarten and beyond, with a philosophy of making learning fun rather than focused on sitting at a desk.
The program was created for children in and around the community and emphasizes core relationships by partnering with parents as co-educators who are invested in the child’s success and future. It focuses on developing character traits and life skills that promote independence, and it reinforces community connections through regular assessments and family/teacher conferences twice a year. The environment offers safety, freedom within boundaries, individual attention, enrichment, and praise, and encourages exploration through distinct, stimulating, and educational learning centers that reflect each child’s individual personality.
