The Healdsburg School states that its mission is “To cultivate the intellect, courage, and compassion to lead lives of inquiry and purpose,” and describes itself as a TK–8 Independent School where children are known and learning is personalized. The school notes that it embraces a differentiated educational philosophy with support and challenge across intellectual, social/emotional, creative, and physical development, and states, “WE TEACH CHILDREN HOW TO THINK, NOT WHAT TO THINK.” The Healdsburg School is in partnership with the International Baccalaureate Organization of Schools and lists accreditations and memberships. A testimonial from alum Mack Dougherty, Class of 2010, states that THS gives students tools to become a great leader and highlights the importance of initial commitment in accomplishing goals.
