Hermosa Beach Youth Basketball includes activities such as Friday Night Hoops, team photos, and championship nights. The program features playoff buzzer beaters, kindergartners learning what “defense” means, and 8th graders battling it out one final time at Valley Gym. It follows the Hermosa/Manhattan Beach school calendar for vacation breaks.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: Practices start in December, and games run January through mid-March.
HBYB is 37 years strong. Its mission statement is that coaches are told every year that the only thing that matters is that every kid finishes the season excited to play again next year. The program states that it is proudly serving the South Bay.
