Child’s World Preschool includes hands-on experiences such as investigating patterns in the garden, constructing in the block area, and painting in the art studio. The program takes place in a Certified Outdoor Classroom and is guided by the Reggio Emilia philosophy in a Reggio-inspired environment. Child’s World Preschool operates as a non-profit preschool.

In 1972, University United Methodist Church envisioned a non-profit preschool where children could learn, grow, and feel deeply valued, and that vision became Child’s World Preschool. The Child's World Preschool community states that it is committed to active, reflective, creative learning that takes place in a safe environment enriched with encouragement and guidance, and that it celebrates the love of learning and is committed to nurturing high self-esteem and respect for others. The program is the recipient of the Outstanding Program Award. The community involvement description notes that Child’s World Preschool is a place where families find connection, community, and a sense of belonging. The program’s spiritual statement is to introduce faith by experiencing the love of Christ through tangible everyday experiences and interactions within the preschool and church community.
