Children in the program use a Natural Playground as part of their daily activities. The school operates as an independent, secular, year-round early childhood day school with 11 classrooms and an average ratio of 1 staff member to 6 children.

Founded in 1979, Turtle Rock Preschool Programs has operated for over 45 years. The program follows a curriculum that balances developmental and traditional academic principles within a joyful and nurturing environment. Caring, qualified teachers lead the classes, and the program offers state-of-the-art learning facilities for kindergarteners. The school has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) since 1986 and has maintained continuous accreditation by meeting all ten Early Childhood Program Standards with over 400 individual criteria, and its early childhood programs have received awards. The program also offers multiple community-wide events each year, and in one example of student activities, preschool children have corresponded with President Obama.
