City of Irvine Tennis Lessons and Programs offers tennis lessons, group lessons, private lessons, junior lessons, adult lessons, camps, specialty classes, team tennis leagues, USTA Adult Team Tennis Leagues, USTA Junior Team Tennis Leagues, and Pickleball lessons. City of Irvine tennis professionals provide both group and private lessons at various City parks.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
All City of Irvine tennis professionals are United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) or Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified, and only the instructors shown are authorized to teach at City of Irvine tennis facilities. Alex St. Jean holds a Professional Tennis Registry Adult and 10 & Under Development certification (Professional Level), completed the “Foundation of Tennis Teaching” directed by Coach Don Henson, completed a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton in May 2020, and is a Certified Strength Coach through the National Council of Strength and Fitness (NCSF), which is nationally accredited and recognized by high school, college, and professional organizations as well as health clubs. Desiree Tran is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association and Professional Tennis Registry. Lessons and programs are available in Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Tagalog, Mandarin, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Farsi, and Turkish. Any unauthorized commercial use such as lessons or tournaments on City courts is a misdemeanor under Irvine Municipal Code, Section III.G-201. The City provides contact numbers 949-724-6617 and 949-724-6400 to schedule private lessons, speak with instructors, report individuals posing as City instructors, obtain information on becoming a City tennis instructor, and obtain more information about the tennis program. The City of Irvine also offers free tax preparation services in partnership with Orange County United Way.
