ModernBrain Public Speaking and Debate Programs

ModernBrain Public Speaking and Debate Programs offers speech, debate, mock trial, Model United Nations, and public speaking courses. The program includes K–12 communication classes, foundational courses for beginners, specialized speech training, debate classes, mock trials, Model United Nations simulations, counseling, and college enrichment programs.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Session three runs July 20–August 6, and the fall session runs August 17–December 20, 2026.

The leadership team includes Ms. Yilin (Administrator, CEO, Co-Founder, fluent in English and Chinese), Dr. Iain (Administrator, COO, Counselor, Instructor), Coach Gift (Administrator, Instructor), Coach Kate (Counselor, Instructor), Coach Trig (Instructor), and Ms. Lily (Administrator, fluent in English and Chinese). ModernBrain describes its mission as “Your public speaking pathway to confidence and college” and “Your public speaking path to confidence and college.” The program offers year-round educational enrichment programs with online options and programs in San Marino, Irvine, Dallas, and Palos Verdes, and it offers more than 30 public speaking courses. Every course is crafted by national champion coaches, and the structure includes K–12 communication classes, competition teams, and counseling. Families can book virtual info sessions, trial classes, and nationals team interviews, and the program offers a free info session or trial class, a free critical evaluation focused on improvement after nationals team interview calls, and a biweekly mailing list.

ModernBrain reports 6,850+ speech, debate, mock trial, and Model United Nations awards, 1,600+ public speaking championships, and 700+ rankings at national competitions. It is the only academy in the world reported to have won team sweepstakes awards at the National Online Forensics League, the National Individual Event Tournament of Champions, and the Mock Trial Tournament of Champions. ModernBrain has won more state titles at the California middle school championship than the rest of the top five teams combined. ModernBrain has coached national champions at the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) Middle and High School Championship in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026. ModernBrain is a provider of the President's Volunteer Service Award.
