Aim High is designed for current 5th–8th grade middle school students who have limited access to summer enrichment, and students are expected to attend consecutive summers throughout middle school. The program is guided by CORE values of Community, Opportunity, Respect, and High Expectations, and uses behavior expectations and interventions that are rooted in restorative practices to prevent and respond to conflict, harm, and wrongdoing. Aim High describes itself as a welcoming community that gives every student a voice and empowers them for a lifetime, and reports that 98% of alumni who completed the alumni survey are graduating high school on time and heading to college. Aim High notes that it is not equipped with a full SPED department at summer program locations and is unable to provide 1:1 full day support for students. Aim High celebrates 40 years of summer learning. One parent shared that Aim High has been a lifeline as a working parent, with a mix of fun and learning, clear communication, a variety of program offerings, and a chance for their child to experience middle school-style transitions, new sports, enrichment opportunities, and mentorship.
