NW Film Camp focuses on filmmaking activities such as screenwriting, directing, acting, editing, and producing short films. Participants work on projects that can include puppetry, animation, music videos, digital shorts, and stop-motion animation, as well as developing a concept, planning shots, filming, and crafting a custom soundtrack with real synthesizers. The program also includes cinematography, production design, location scouting, hands-on tech and gear tutorials, an introduction to industry standards, project management, video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro, and audio editing with Adobe Audition.

• Schedule: Day camp sessions run Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3pm, with 7-week film camps and week-long day camps offered in spring and summer 2026.

NW Film Camp offers Spring & Summer Filmmaking Camps for Kids & Teens, including Summer Creator Camps and Filmmaker Camps at multiple locations, the Creator Camp track EpicVerse for ages 8–11, and three newly redesigned Filmmaker Camps for ages 12–18. The program includes the Super 8 Digital Shorts Camp, which is now in its 11th year, and a Friday Film Festival Digital Shorts Premiere where students premiere their finished films to share with friends and family. Narrative and Cinematic advanced film camps use Canon EOS C100 Cinema EOS Cameras, and students learn to create short films using Canon C100 cameras and professional grade editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition. Some projects are described as portfolio-ready and can be submitted to festivals and scholarships, and the program provides a pathway into the Teen Film Lab and internship opportunities. Students work in small teams to produce short films to share with their communities and beyond, and a limited number of partial scholarships are available. Tuition payments are non-refundable, and cancellations receive transferable credit good through 2027.

The program has a partnership with San Diego French American School in 2026, and the Digital Shorts Camp is now in its 11th year.
Parent feedback includes comments such as Evelyn identifying different types of shots after Day 1 and enjoying the lessons and activities, and Caleb’s mom noting that working alongside other kids brought him out and that he came home excited to share what he made.
