About
Delhaven Community Center Youth Programs include after school programming at 13 different local schools, with homework assistance and enrichment programs. The program also offers offsite recreation programs at multiple schools, including Baldwin Academy, California Elementary, Del Valle Elementary, Fairgrove Academy, Grandview Preparatory, Kwis Elementary, Newton Middle, Orange Grove Middle, Palm Elementary, Sierra Vista Middle School, Valinda School of Academics, Winglane Elementary, and Workman Elementary. Additional youth activities include Summer Day Camps, Holiday Vacation Camps, Summer Mountain Camp, an Annual Halloween Party for over 1,000 children, and the Voyagers Club for children who are experiencing emotional and/or behavioral issues.

Delhaven Community Center states that it offers people of all ages, and families, positive experiences that will help them in fulfilling their goals and meeting life’s challenges. This year marks its 50th year serving La Puente and the San Gabriel Valley. The organization received recognition as 2019 Non Profit of the Year and operates two State Licensed Adult Day Programs.
Delhaven Community Center’s community involvement includes participation in the La Puente Christmas Parade, Christmas food and toy distribution, Community Yard Sales, and operating a Free Little Library that is stocked with free dog treats and poop bags. The Because We Care program focuses on providing a support system for those facing challenges with mental illness, learning disabilities, and services for the special needs population, and helps local families access mental health support and resources. Fundraising activities such as the Premium Meat & Seafood Raffle support the Because We Care program, and the Alberto Castillo Scholarship and Alberto Castillo Scholarship Cornament provide scholarships to Delhaven staff and volunteers.
Additional programs and events connected to Delhaven Community Center include the Funseekers Travel Club, Happy Timers Saturday Program, Lake Tahoe Caravan, Weekend Round Up, Overnighter’s (Respit Care), family emergency welfare services, court hour referral’s, the Pay it Forward program, Volunteer Recognition Dinner, Mini Golf Tournament, Car Wash, Community Yard Sale’s, First Aid/CPR Training, and a 3rd annual cornhole tournament. The program also hosts an Annual Halloween Party and offers a Free Little Library.

Parent Mark Guan notes that the ASES program provided an organized setting for his daughter to participate in social activity to enrich both mind and body during a difficult year with limited social interaction.
