Monterey Bay Horsemanship and Therapeutic Center (MBHTC)

Monterey Bay Horsemanship and Therapeutic Center offers equine-assisted behavioral modification through both mounted and unmounted equine activities. Participants take part in activities with horses that include riding and working with horses on the ground as part of the program’s life skills focus.

Since 1993, Monterey Bay Horsemanship and Therapeutic Center has been serving the communities of Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito counties and the Bay Area. The program is a 501c3 non-profit therapeutic riding center that offers equine-assisted behavioral modification for all levels of physical and emotional needs. It serves a range of clients of all ages, including those with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, MS, and para/quadriplegics. The program encourages and enables participants of every ability level to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment and promotes community participation in its working horse ranch, the barn, and its extended life skills programs. It teaches skills that transition to work and independence through both mounted and unmounted equine activities.
