About
Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS) Recreation Programs are part of the lifestyle division for Ladera’s events, recreational programs, activities, and volunteering. The programs take place at a variety of community amenities that include clubhouses, parks, sports facilities, a skate park, a disc golf course, and a putting golf course that features outdoor games such as Gaga Ball and cornhole. LARCS also connects residents with community clubs and groups, a Ranch Hands volunteer program, a Teen Leadership Council, and a LARCS scholarship program.
Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS) is the lifestyle division of Ladera Ranch and is an independent community services organization that builds a strong social fabric by encouraging neighborhood interaction through technology, programs, activities and the spirit of volunteerism. LARCS promotes communications among neighbors, organizations, alliances and businesses through LaderaLife.com and publications, and it provides Roots and Wings Magazine, a neighborhood block parties reimbursement program, community clubs and groups, a scholarship program, a Teen Leadership Council, and new homeowner welcome receptions. LARCS has a Ranch Hands volunteer program and Neighborhood Activity Coordinators (NACs), who are residents acting as a point of contact for LARCS.
Ladera Ranch Community Services (LARCS) is led by a Community Services Director, Ashley Blair. LARCS is an independent 501(c)(4) nonprofit public benefit corporation with an independently elected governing Board of Directors.
Ladera Ranch was founded in 1999, the LARCS Advisory Council was formed in 2004, and the first LARCS election was held in 2006. The Teen Leadership Council was launched in August 2010, the LARCS Scholarship was expanded for four-year college students in 2014, and the LARCS Lifestyle Legacy Grant was announced in June 2022 as a one-time investment in lifestyle-related amenities.
LARCS is funded primarily through a Community Enhancement Fee (CEF) paid at the sale or resale of any home in Ladera Ranch, with first-time sales at 1/8% of the purchase price of a home and resales at 1/4% of the purchase price. Ladera Ranch earned 2025 Tree City USA Recognition from the Arbor Day Foundation.
Ladera Ranch has pet-friendly parks, close-knit clubs, groups and programs, and trails for hiking, mountain biking and exploring. Terramor Aquatic Park, also called Red Bucket Park, is a water park that has been modernized. Ladera Ranch has new pickleball courts and a new half-court basketball court at Avendale Village Clubhouse, a refurbished putting golf course at Mission Hills Park with added outdoor games such as Gaga Ball and cornhole, and an executive-style disc golf course in Covenant Hills with shorter distances than typical courses for faster play.
