LMYA Sports offers youth sports programs that include multiple sports. The program has been providing year-round sports opportunities to school age youth in Lafayette and Moraga since 1954. It is the largest athletic organization in Lafayette and Moraga and is based in Lafayette and Moraga while also serving surrounding communities.
LMYA Sports is non-discriminatory and open to all school age youth, regardless of age, race, and skill level. Its mission statement is to build opportunities to school age youth in Lafayette and Moraga. The program partners with parents, residents, local sports teams, and organizations, and focuses on local games, inclusive events, and team camaraderie. LMYA Sports offers equal game time and position opportunity given equal player commitment and manages team time commitments to allow players time for unstructured practice or participation in other activities. It also provides older youth with work opportunities in which they serve as role models in leadership roles. One Acalanes High School student and varsity athlete stated that LMYA taught them to play multiple sports and what it means to be part of a team, and that they enjoyed playing with friends from different schools.
