The Karate & Fitness Place USA

The Karate & Fitness Place USA offers self defense classes, traditional Shito-Ryu karate, and traditional Japanese karate. The program also offers private lessons and semi-private lessons for students who are not comfortable training in a big class setting. It is described as a dojo where the entire family can train together and be part of a much larger community of Karate-do.

The Karate & Fitness Place USA was established in 1983, and its mission statement is “Strengthening America’s Families.” Sensei Thomas Westernoff, also referred to as Sensei Tom, is the founder and President of The Karate & Fitness Place USA. The dojo states that safety is a priority and welcomes new students of all abilities, levels, and ages, asking students to have an open mind and the willingness and desire to learn. It offers self defense clinics and award winning programs that “instill the best in everyone,” with a stated goal to help every student build self confidence and improve every aspect of their life.

The Karate & Fitness Place USA teaches traditional Shito-Ryu karate, which is described as one of the top styles of karate in the world and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Students are described as learning quality traditional Japanese karate in a professional and fun teaching environment. The Karate & Fitness Place USA is described as “A Recognized Karate School of Black Belt Excellence,” and many students have gone on to become National and World Champions, with students still recognized as top competitors in the sport of Karate. Core traditional values listed by the dojo include Respect, Self-Discipline, Dedication, Humility, establishing a hard work ethic, and building a solid foundation. The first week is stated as free for new students.
