Valley Rush states that it is one of Southern California’s premier youth sports organizations and that Valley Rush Buckeyes aspires to be an outstanding educational-athletic organization that provides a high-quality experience to every athlete. The program is led by Coach Terrell, president of San Fernando Valley Rush, who has developed comprehensive training programs designed to elevate athletes to the next level. Valley Rush is a proud member of the Gold Coast Youth Football League (GCYFL), and Valley Rush Buckeyes provides tackle football as part of this league. As a member of the GCYFL, the program requires 20 hours of practice before any hitting drills can take place, and speed training sessions focus on coordination, acceleration, speed, power, balance, and reaction, with a maximum of 30 athletes per pre-season speed training session.
The non-refundable registration fee includes a practice jersey, two game jerseys (one red and one white), two pairs of game pants, shoulder pads, and a helmet, and athletes keep the practice jersey and personalized game jerseys while all other equipment must be returned or replaced at fair market value if lost or excessively damaged. Football players also need a chinstrap, mouthpiece(s), football cleats, black integrated practice pants, a girdle, and a cup, with optional items such as gloves, padded compression shirts, and back flaps, and any visor used cannot be mirrored or dark. All athletes must have a current physical dated after November 30, 2024, stamped by a physician. Valley Rush notes that, as a proud member of the GCYFL, it relies on local businesses that serve the community to provide sponsorships to help generate financial support for the program.
