Youth Art Classes offers youth art classes that include Studio Painting with Bobbi Baldwin, Colors of the Earth Paint and Brush Making, Colors of the Earth Community Collaboration, Kids Clay Camp, and clay carving. In Colors of the Earth Paint and Brush Making, students make paint, brushes, and medium from scratch using elements of nature, and in Colors of the Earth Community Collaboration they paint a community panel using elements of nature. There is no lab fee for youth classes, and students may be taking their work home after each class.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Youth art classes run Monday–Thursday, with one-hour class options on selected dates for K–3rd, 3rd–5th, 6th–8th, and 9th–12th grade groups.
• Price: Youth art classes are $35 per one-hour class; Studio Painting with Bobbi Baldwin ranges from $150–$185 for monthly series or $40 per drop-in, and Colors of the Earth sessions are $30–$35.
The Art League of Lincoln has been serving the greater Lincoln, California area since 2012 and previously operated as Lincoln Arts from 1986 to 2012. Its stated mission is to promote, foster, and support the arts in the greater Lincoln area through exhibits, shows, tours, education, and other activities for artists and art appreciators. The organization offers a limited number of Youth Art Class Scholarships to families that cannot afford the cost of kids’ classes and events.
The Art League of Lincoln has partnerships that include alliances with the City of Lincoln, the Chamber of Commerce, the Western Placer School District, the Downtown Lincoln Association, other non-profit groups, and various community constituencies. It presents rotating student and local art exhibits at Lincoln’s City Hall Rotunda Gallery, sponsors Small Feats of Clay and ClayFest (also called Clay Day) featuring clay carving, Kids Clay Camp, street performers, and artisans, and has been the Presenting Sponsor of the Placer Artists Art Studios Tour in 2021 and 2022. Its Art in Public Places program includes murals that feature Lincoln’s ethnic culture of immigrants connected to local farms and the Gladding McBean Clay factory, and it is introducing a new ArtWalk program to be held at least twice a year.
