About
New Horizons is a play-based school that includes creative activities, group participation, and both indoor and outdoor activities. The program has four separate classrooms, a large outside yard, and a dedicated covered infant patio. Teachers act as facilitators in each child's early learning process and use a stimulating curriculum geared to building social, emotional, physical, and cognitive learning.
• Ages: 0–5 years old
• Schedule: Open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm, with a daily preschool program from 8:45am to 12:00pm
New Horizons has been providing quality childcare for the Livermore area since 1984 as a non-profit educational organization. It offers an Infant/Toddler class for children from 3 months to 2 years, a Busy Bees class for 2- and 3-year-olds, a Rainbow Room class for 3- and 4-year-olds, and a preschool class for 4- and 5-year-olds. The program focuses on developing the whole child with a focus on preparing them for kindergarten and maintains a very low student to teacher ratio. The program encourages parent participation through co-op discounts, volunteer days, and regular family events. New Horizons provides daily snacks and milk to complement a home prepared meal. It is a fully compliant non-profit organization, and all profits go back into childcare, with any donations being tax deductible. The program is designed to meet the needs of each individual child and their family, and it is the stated belief of the program that parents are the first teachers of their own children and staff serve as the support system for childcare and preschool programs.
