Tri-Valley Native American Center (TVNAC)

Tri-Valley Native American Center (TVNAC) offers Cultural Studies for Kindergarten through 12th grade and Native American Powwow Dancing. The Powwow dance group is made up of local Native students who are champion Powwow dancers. Support services are free to Native American families who file the necessary paperwork.

• General schedule: Open enrollment is from August to December each school year. The calendar lists recurring Dance-related events including IFH Drum & Dance in OAKLAND, SF Powwow Dance Practice, and TVNAC OPEN HOUSE.

About the provider

TVNAC works collaboratively with the Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, and Castro Valley school districts. Tina Henson is listed as the Program Specialist. The center is also open to the public as a small Native American History Museum and Library, and classes may schedule a field trip.

Support services are completely free to families who file the necessary paperwork (ED 506 Form). One time application covers students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Annual new student sign-up is needed to determine federal funding. Each student must be checked in and out of the program by an adult over age 18 listed on the student's emergency card. Students may not be released if identification cannot be verified.
