Forest Language Preschool offers cooking, music, art, science, pretend play, listening to and reading stories, dictating stories, classroom charts, and hands-on projects. The school day is conducted in French or Spanish by native speaking educators, and imaginative, hands-on projects are facilitated by native French and Spanish speaking educators. Daily practices incorporate an emergent curriculum that uses age-appropriate activities based on children’s needs and interests and is informed by Piagetian and Vygotskian theories from a constructivist perspective.
• Ages: 2–5 years old
• Schedule: Open Monday through Friday with a full day program from 8:00AM to 4:00PM, a half day program from 8:00AM to noon, and a mid-day program from 8:00AM to 3:00PM
Forest Language Preschool is a licensed French/Spanish full immersion preschool. The program’s mission is to immerse children in French and Spanish language and culture and develop their verbal, motor, social, and critical thinking through a developmentally appropriate curriculum. All staff are fluent in Spanish and French, and every educator is specialized in early childhood education. Everyone on the team is fingerprinted and cleared by the Department of Justice of Sacramento following Title 22 regulations. Teachers use a variety of approaches to develop children’s language, literacy skills, and mathematical thinking, and the program offers a balance of indoor and outdoor activities throughout the day. Parents are welcome once a month for Family Day to share their culture and traditions with the preschool through activities such as cooking, music, and art.
