Impact Dance Center has been “Setting Your Dreams In Motion Since 1972,” beginning in Nancy Kindorf’s garage in 1972 and moving to Cypress by the early 1990s. Studio ownership was passed to Shawn Kindorf in 2000, and in 2005 Catherine Gray and her mom, Kim, sought ownership of the studio. In 2009 the studio moved cross-town and rebranded as Impact Dance Center, and in 2015 it added an annex location in Cypress. Impact Dance Center is celebrating its 52nd season and notes over 50 years of community, creativity, and dance excellence, with an alumni, instructor, and dance family network that reaches across many career paths, backgrounds, and locations.

The mission of Impact Dance Center states that it is a place where kids and adults of all ages, shapes, and backgrounds learn to dance and perform, with high-quality dance lessons in a nurturing family atmosphere. The mission also states that creativity, individuality, and self-expression are encouraged, and that a community of teachers, students, and families who are passionate about the performing arts comes together at the studio. Impact Dance Center’s mission further states that it is committed to providing a safe and positive learning environment in all classes, levels, and programs, where students can build confidence, expand their mindset, and explore the art of dance.

Impact Dance Center describes itself as offering dance classes for kids and adults in Orange County, California, with two convenient locations and one dance family, and notes that students are encouraged to take advantage of both facilities for a seamless dance experience between the two studios. The studio facilities include a spacious lobby with seating and viewing areas, a kitchenette and restrooms with a microwave and sink, a front desk with a helpful and courteous front desk team, Studio A with sprung vinyl dance flooring and mirrors, Studio B with ballet barres and mirrors, and a Pilates studio with professional equipment. The leadership story highlights founder and former studio owner Nancy Kindorf, studio owner from 2000 Shawn Kindorf, and Catherine Gray and her mom, Kim, who sought ownership of the studio in 2005.
