Watersafe Swim School offers infant and toddler lessons, learn-to-swim programs, stroke development, parent-tot workshops, group lessons, private lessons, semi-personal lessons, pre-competitive swim, Jr. Lifeguard Prep Classes, and a free infant swim experience. The program uses the Smart Fish roll and float method and offers personalized instruction through a variety of lesson formats.

Since 1971, the Smart Fish method has been taught at Watersafe Swim School, which reports 52 years of experience, 46+ years as a USSSA member, and more than 500,000 swim lessons taught. The school states the mission, “I want to create a place where safety, swimming, fun, and raising goodwill for the community come together.” Watersafe Swim School is the creator of the award-winning Smart Fish Method and Smart Fish curriculum, which is nationally recognized through the Smart Fish Academy and described as recognized for excellence. The program uses a state-of-the-art UV pool sanitation system and states, “Any Age. Any Skill. All Year.”
The leadership team includes founder Ginny Ferguson, Smart Fish curriculum developers Ginny (Flahive) Ferguson and Karen Flahive Nance, Chief Executive Nathan, Chief Operations Meryl, and Aquatics Director Liz. All staff are described as highly trained and certified, carefully chosen, and extensively trained and certified through the nationally recognized Smart Fish Academy, with all staff certified in CPR, AED, and first aid. Watersafe certified teachers are noted in the U.S., Mexico, South America, Europe, and Asia.
Watersafe Swim School describes being part of the Watersafe Family as a commitment to the safety of children in the local community and offers Tuition Assistance through Hope Floats. The program has been named one of Orange County’s Best Places to Work in 2023.
