Cirque School offers classes in circus arts that include trapeze, aerial arts, contortion, Pilates, fitness training, and other circus skills. Classes are taught by passionate circus coaches in an indoor playground equipped with hanging ropes, rows of trapeze bars, and colorful, flowing fabrics.

Cirque School began with Aloysia Gavre’s vision in 2004 to offer circus arts training for both amateur and emerging professional students, and it was officially founded in 2009 by Aloysia Gavré and partner Rex Camphuis. The program offers public adult recreational classes, kids and youth programming, student performances, and is home to the companion professional performance company Troupe Vertigo Circus-Dance-Theatre, which tours throughout the country. Cirque School offers forty weekly classes in numerous circus disciplines at various training levels, and its curriculum is supplemented with specialty workshops taught by industry professionals throughout the year.
According to its mission statement, Cirque School aims to celebrate each student’s unique physical journey in a safe and positive environment, using training, performance, and community outreach to inspire appreciation for circus arts in a supportive, non-competitive setting. The mission statement also says that Cirque School welcomes individuals of all backgrounds and experience levels, focuses on physical and mental wellness, and is committed to social justice and freedom from oppression, including racism, sexism, classism, heterosexism, and ageism.
