About
Everlasting Education Nature Connection Programs offers Summer Camps, School Break Camps, backcountry trips, and after-school hiking clubs. The programs also include after-school, weekend, and seasonal nature connection programs and nature-based enrichment programs. Everlasting Education operates a fully outdoor TK–5 elementary school that uses a constructivist classroom with student-led inquiry grounded in real-world experiences, place-based learning rooted in local ecology and cultural history, and daily outdoor learning. The curriculum aligns with California Department of Education standards and was used as an outdoor education option during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic as a safe, healthy alternative to virtual learning.

Founded in 2020, Everlasting Education Nature Connection Programs is part of Everlasting Education, whose mission is to provide an innovative, outdoor elementary education grounded in experiential learning and social-emotional growth, with an emphasis on social-emotional learning including kindness, communication, and confidence. The program maintains small class sizes with a 6:1 student-teacher ratio. Everlasting Education is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The leadership team includes Michael Galano (Head of School, Executive Director), Cassidy Bartolomei (Board Chair), Nancy Kaase (Secretary), and Jon Thornham (Treasurer). Michael Galano has a business degree from the University of Notre Dame, is a certified public accountant, and is a veteran public school teacher, naturalist, and outdoor adventurer. Nancy Kaase has worked in early childhood education for close to 30 years and is an expert in educational leadership, curriculum development, and staff development. Jon Thornham is an engineer and entrepreneur who co-founded FLO Cycling, an innovative and carbon-reducing organization committed to the environment. The board includes educators, community leaders, and advocates who guide and support Everlasting’s mission with their expertise and shared values.
