Jun Chong Tae Kwon Do Studio was founded by Grandmaster Jun Chong in 1973 and is described as one of the longest standing martial arts academies in Southern California. The system is built on a consistent curriculum that integrates various styles of martial arts, specifically Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido, and has been taught through the years to children and adults, with many students becoming masters in their own right. The studio is affiliated with the World Tae Kwon Do Federation in Korea and the International Korea Hapkido Federation, and students are certified in both federations when they earn their black belts from this organization. Jun Chong Tae Kwon Do has received several recognitions, including Top Martial Arts School of 2012 in Los Angeles by Top Choice Awards, Talk of the Town’s Award for Excellence in Customer Satisfaction 2010, MyFoxLA's Hot List for Best Martial Arts Schools in LA in 2008, 2009, and 2010, and Asian World of Martial Arts Best Voted School in 2007 and 2008, and it is noted as the founder of the World United Martial Arts Organization, with Jun Chong memorabilia inducted into the Martial Arts.

Kids Tae Kwon Do at this studio includes coordination, flexibility, self-defense, weapons, and safe ways to fall and roll. The adult program is described as extensive and engages each adult physically, mentally, and spiritually. Birthday parties at Jun Chong Tae Kwon Do include activities that teach kids to explore their strength in an environment that motivates and challenges them to be active.

One parent, Shawn Esrawi, states that this is the “Best martial art school for your kids and adults as well,” notes that Grandmaster Jun Chong and his family are heavily involved in the school, and shares that he has been a student for 18 years and that both of his boys are nearing their black belts. Former student Mar Vio recalls training under Phillip Rhee at the school in the 1980s, mentions winning Judo Sweep gold medals in tournaments, and recommends the school for kids and women's self defense. Another visitor, Kevin Quijano, describes taking a class with an instructor named Daniel, mentions a mix of levels in the class, and describes an intense hour of drilling and free training.
