About

Play 2 Progress offers 1:1 occupational therapy, group occupational therapy, break and summer camp, and stage-appropriate in-person classes, including a crawlers class. The program is a play-based learning center where individual sessions are custom-designed as play sessions to support unique learning goals, and group sessions are custom-designed to address learning goals while focusing on how children respond to emotions, work in a team, communicate needs, and build friendships. Classes expose children to a wide array of materials, sensations, feelings, and movements, and the spaces are intentionally designed to encourage exploration using tools, structures, and materials that have been shown to engage all eight of a child’s senses.

• Ages: 0–8 years old

Play 2 Progress is based on a scientifically developed methodology that uses science-backed physical and cognitive sensory learning principles and practices. The approach emphasizes a child’s developmental stage rather than age, addresses development from before birth through childhood, and places particular focus on engaging the senses in the first three years when sensorimotor skills are developed. Play 2 Progress supports parental goals by creating a shared vision among all members of a child’s support network and maintains open lines of communication between families, teachers, and coaches.

Play 2 Progress was created by occupational therapists with a specialty in sensory integration. The leadership team includes Dr. Allie Ticktin, who is the author of a book on the eight sensory systems. The program information is listed with © 2026, Play 2 Progress.

One parent, Suzie F., states that she and her son enjoy the crawlers class and that it is the highlight of their week, and she notes that Allie and the staff are informative and warm. Another parent, Audrey L., reports that her son is thriving and that his teachers now describe him as a model student, and she also notes that he is playing well with others and having consistently great days at school. A participant named Cindy P. shares that coming to class is what she looks forward to all week. Testimonials about Dr. Allie Ticktin’s book describe it as offering practical activities for sensory play and as a resource that helps parents understand their children on a deeper level, according to Carolyn Dalgliesh and Stephen Chbosky.
