PUENTE Learning Center

PUENTE Learning Center offers a preschool with parent engagement and a play-based curriculum, a charter elementary school with a whole-student approach, and college and career programs that include college prep, college access, and college success. It also offers adult education in ESL, high school diploma and equivalency, and career skill programs, along with workshops, well-being, advocacy, and health screenings or financial literacy workshops.

About the provider

PUENTE Learning Center was founded in 1985 in Boyle Heights. The organization says it has served more than 120,000 students and community members since 1985. Its mission is: "We are PUENTE: People United to Enrich the Neighborhood Through Education. Building bridges to learning and opportunity in Boyle Heights and beyond."

PUENTE Charter School enrollment form states that it does not guarantee enrollment; a separate application is required for each student; only parents or legal guardians may complete the form. Preschool enrollment requires eligibility based on state of California requirements, need, income, and the child’s age.
