Sender One Youth Climbing Programs include weekly, recurring youth programs with skill-based progression and a focus on social, confidence-building, and physical development. Kids Climb is a one-time, drop-in program to explore climbing in a one-hour, coach-led session, and Climbing Academy is a beginner climbing program for kids ages 6–13 with all equipment included. Recreational Climbing Teams (Mighty Monkeys for ages 6–10, Super Senders for ages 10–13, and High School Club for ages 13–17) are ongoing team-based programs for kids who want to climb regularly, improve their skills, and be part of a supportive group, and all have Climbing Academy as a prerequisite.
Advanced Teams (Team Sender One) include a Training Team and Competition Team, where athletes train across bouldering, sport, lead, and speed climbing with emphasis on advanced technique, strength, and mental strategies. Team placement for the Training Team and Competition Team is determined through tryouts held twice per year (Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer), and tryouts are required to join Advanced Teams. Athletes on Advanced Teams are expected to commit to consistent training, teamwork, and representing Sender One with professionalism and respect.
Sender City is described as a colorful, interactive climbing adventure for kids, families, and birthday parties. Youth programs are described as climbing programs that help kids build confidence, strength, and community. Family perks include kids receiving a full gym membership during the program, parents getting a free Intro to Climbing class, and an optional parent membership during Academy.
Small-group instruction is led by experienced coaches. In Kids Climb sessions, one of the experienced coaches gets kids on ropes and belays them, and in Coach Climb sessions, a staff member helps climbers get comfortable bouldering on the walls. First class attendance is required for team eligibility, there are no refunds or credits for cancellations less than 48 hours from the first class, and there are no make-ups or credits for missed days.
Sender One was co-founded in 2011, when three friends came together with a vision to create a new kind of climbing gym.
