West Coast Tigers Basketball offers competitive club teams, season leagues, shoot-outs, training, camps, clinics, after school sports programs, events, private training, private “pod” classes, and birthday parties. The program is also connected with Tiger Sports, which offers after school sports programs, camps, events, and private training that use innovative and fun ways to keep youth active, healthy, and building confidence in sports. Some camps have been held at a venue referred to as “Wise.”
Over 15 years ago, Coach Todd founded the West Coast Tigers. West Coast Tigers Basketball is a youth club basketball program based in Los Angeles, California offering competitive club teams, season leagues, shoot-outs, training, camps and clinics and much more. Its mission is the development of young athletes both on and off the court, including improving basketball skill and acumen, confidence, work ethic, and teaching them how to be leaders. The program has a reputation for providing quality coaching and training and for running innovative, well organized events in the basketball community.
The leadership team includes Todd Brandenburg (Director/Coach); Scottie Jordan (Youth Development/Events/Coach); Mike Terani (Program Consultant/Coach); Coltrane Powdrill (Trainer/Coach); Daniel Thai (Trainer/Coach); Demetrius Overstreet (Trainer/Coach); Gianni Hunt (Trainer/Coach); and Gorden Boykins (Trainer/Coach). Coach Todd moved to the United States from Panama at age 12, played college basketball, worked with major basketball brands, participated in an international outreach program in Japan, has years of coaching experience at the high school and youth levels, and has continued to study and grow the game through elite coaching development programs. Coach Scottie was a 3-sport athlete in basketball, football and boxing, continued his athletic career at Texas State University where he studied sociology and business, and has been coaching for the last 5 years ranging from elementary school to high school kids. Coach Mike started playing basketball at the age of 8, began coaching and refereeing throughout Southern California at age 15, coached his first youth basketball team in 1996, was a “Scholar-Athlete” in school, and was named “Most Improved Player of The Year” and “Most Inspirational Player of The Year,” and he is a Partner at Oakwood Legal Group, LLP. Coach Coltrane played basketball at Moorpark College, earning the title of the third top scorer in the state, then transferred to California Lutheran University where he helped lead the Kingsmen to a SCIAC championship, and he can also teach fundamentals of soccer, football, baseball, and golf. Coach Daniel discovered his love for basketball at age 8, worked as a scorekeeper by age 14, began coaching youth basketball by 17, has worked with college students to develop creative skills in graphic design, photography, and videography, and has led teams on medical missions in Vietnam guiding youth ages 14–19. Coach Demetrius holds the record for most assists in a game and the fastest 100m dash at San Bernardino High School, walked on the basketball team at Oregon State University, specializes in player development, and has been coaching high school and AAU basketball for the last 4 years. Coach Gianni played high school basketball at Bishop Montgomery in Torrance and Division One basketball at Oregon State, where he helped the team secure a Pac 12 championship and reach the NCAA Elite 8 in 2021. Coach Gorden played basketball at Cerritos College and then at Lewis Clark State College for his final 2 years of college, leading his team to a total of 40+ wins in 2 years, and has been working youth camps for most of his basketball career.
