About

USC Summer Programs is a four-week college immersion program where high school students take interactive, engaging, and challenging courses in a subject area of their choice. The program includes group work, hands-on lab experience, field trips, guest speakers, and an encompassing final project. Outside of class, participants take part in residential activities such as ice cream socials, game nights, movies on the lawn, intramural and field games, and day trips to local attractions like beaches, theme parks, and sports events.

• Ages: 14–18 years old
• Schedule: Four-week sessions with classes held daily from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

USC Summer Programs offers more than 20 academically focused courses, and students can explore new areas of study or build on their high school coursework. Participants learn from expert USC faculty and staff and can earn three units of elective college credit upon successful completion of a course, which is recorded on a USC transcript. The on-campus program includes access to USC dining halls, campus libraries, and a gym, and evening residential activities are created and supervised by residential advisors and program staff. The program also offers Pre-College online exploration courses that let high school students learn from USC faculty on their own time, supplement high school coursework, and earn a Certificate of Completion when they finish an online exploration class.
