Wilshire Boulevard Temple Youth & Family Programs

Wilshire Boulevard Temple Youth & Family Programs include Baby & Me classes as well as camps and activities that feature arts, crafts, and sports. The Center for Youth Engagement serves as the hub for Jewish learning beyond the classroom from TK through Grade 12, and Youth & Family programs also include B'nei Mitzvah celebrations and summer camps that have been offered for 75 years. Jewish values in these programs are rooted in Torah (Learning), Avodah (Prayer), and G’milut Chasadim (Acts of Loving-Kindness), and Tikkun Olam is described as woven into everything they do, including feeding the hungry, standing for justice, and building partnerships across Los Angeles and beyond.

Wilshire Boulevard Temple was founded in 1862 as Congregation B’nai B’rith, the first synagogue in Los Angeles, and describes itself as an enduring presence in the city for more than 160 years, rooted in tradition and always evolving. Its mission states that it creates space for people to connect to Jewish wisdom, tradition, and one another, with open hearts and open doors, inviting discovery, celebrating identity, and helping each person find their place in a continuing story. The Karsh Family Social Service Center is described as serving thousands with compassion and dignity. The Youth & Family programs are part of a larger community that includes the Erika J Glazer Family Campus, Audrey and Sydney Irmas Campus, and Resnick Family Campus, along with multiple schools, early childhood centers, religious schools, and community facilities.
